This short video tutorial shows you how to add background music to your Audacity project. UPDATE 6/3/2014: This video describes how to add background music to an older version of Audacity. The current version is 2.0.5. This video is not based on the newest version. Note: In new version – the project tab does not exist. Go to File — Import — Audio to import your audio files.

Hi Darlene, This video was great for me. I am doing a class project to learn to make a pod cast. I was not able to follow the school tutorial or the Audacity tutorial to add the required music for the project. I was about to give up on that part of the project, when I Googled one last time and found your tutorial. I appreciate your share and will be following you in the future.
Hello Darlene i want to know if i wanted to start my music first for about 1 minute and then do my audio afterward can that be done…Thanks!!!
