  1. Maybe a bit off topic but I like to hit the end of the screwdriver as I loosen it to keep it from stripping out..doesnt work with rubber handles so use these for file handles.

  2. Loving Ginger’s enthusiasm, she is the highlight of many of your videos. Not saying your part in the video isn’t great but she is dedicated to her task!

  3. What is it with files that come with no handles? I bought loads and then make my own wooden handles. But its a mystery what happened to the originals???

  4. Transform a broken philips into a standard blade screwdriver. File handles can be easily whittled from a tree branch with a die grinder and drilled for the file tang.

  5. I have a couple that I use as punches…. Take handle off, chuck it up in a drill, and cut it down to the size punch u need on the grinder or belt sander

  6. I made a tool for removing skidoo exhaust springs out of a old mastercraft flat blade, which I actually just found again at my Buddies place. It was missing for along time! Lol. Glad to have it back

  7. Great video. I have been making awls and square awls from old screwdrivers for years. Now I will try to make some file handles, too. Maybe some heavy duty picks as well. Hard to beat the Harbor Freight four pack of picks for small jobs!

  8. Love your channel! I watch a few episodes every day! Much love from Milwaukee ????????????‍????????

  9. My buddy has a 1/4" snap on ratchet with an orange handle from the factory. It always catches my eye every time I see it

  10. You've a new subscriber (who wishes he had enough room for so many tool cabinets).
    Great, no-nonsense vids, thanks!

  11. I’ve sharpened an old flat tip, ground the handle down to fit in an aluminum pipe I had and it makes a great trash pick up tool

  12. Here's a different use: Marlin spike for working ropes and knots. Next opportunity, I'm making one! (or twelve)

  13. My Soon to be Ex-Girlfriend from Hell never gets Me a Drink or Screwdriver when I want. She'll just Throw them at Me when I don't want. Maybe I can get a Cool Mechanic Dog who can get Me a New Cool Girlfriend when I want? I'll check Craigs List. Thanks for the Video, now if I could only get this Screw Driver out of My Back…..Aaaagha

  14. I've replaced all my small file handles with golf balls. I find they fit better in the palm of my hand for better control. Old screw drivers make great ice picks.

  15. Another use for a broken screwdriver: file its peak into a special screw driver peak for security screws or an awl. Getting coloured file handles by painting the original wooden handles is of course also always possible.

  16. I wonder if you could cut broken tips of the screwdrivers and weld any impact bit you want to the end? Are better yet weld a bit holder and use any bit you need…

  17. Great ideas, I have a bunch old screwdrivers. Never thought of making a pick set. Thanks

  18. The more robust flathead screwdrivers make good 'mini-prybars' of various lengths and angles but you will probably need to heat and hammer the ends flatter, wider and thinner.
A 'V' shaped notch ground into the end of some is useful for prising off stuck vacuum pipes etc.
