In this video I make over the family room/living room in a home that has not been updated since the 1980’s. In the process of making over this dated space, I share some of my best ideas tips for creating a bright and cozy space (even in a basement). These tips include painting the walls and ceiling with paint containing undertone (blue and green work well), painting doors and trim; installing a budget friendly flooring such as floating carpet tiles, adding plenty of lighting and mirrors, disguising problem areas, freshening up what you already own, adding thrifted furniture, wall art and accessories, and providing plenty of storage (because we love to use our basements for storage).
