DIY Light-Up Bunny for Under $10 | Dollar Tree Easter DIY Craft

Learn how to make an adorable light-up Dollar Tree Bunny for Easter and Spring!

It’s no secret that I absolutely love finding inexpensive items at Dollar Tree to use in my Cricut Crafts. When I first found these round glass vases in the floral section, I immediately started dreaming up all the different things I could do with them! Last winter, I made a light-up snowman from items I found at Dollar tree, which was so cute. With Springtime rapidly approaching, I decided to hop to it and make a super cute light-up Easter bunny! It turned out so awesome and cost less than $10 to make. Today I’ll share my tutorial with you so you can make one too.

Gigantic Cardamom Roll

Total: 3 hr 40 min (includes resting time)
Active: 40 min
Yield: Two 8-inch rolls

Ingredients

Dough:

1 cup (240 grams) whole milk
1/2 cup (113 grams) unsalted butter, plus 2 tablespoons for greasing pans
4 1/2 cups (585 grams) all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
1/3 cup (67 grams) granulated sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
2 large eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Neutral oil, for greasing the bowl

Filling:

1/2 cup (100 grams) dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
4 tablespoons (56 grams) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled, divided
1 large egg, beaten with a splash of water
2 tablespoons pearl sugar, divided
Whipped butter, for serving

Directions

To make the dough: In a small saucepan over low heat, add the milk and butter, stirring gently, until the butter is just melted. Remove from heat and allow to cool to lukewarm. (You can also do this in a measuring cup in the microwave).

In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook attachment, add the flour, granulated sugar, yeast, salt and cardamom. Whisk to combine. Add the milk mixture, eggs and vanilla and then knead, either on a work surface or with the dough hook on high speed until the dough is smooth and slightly sticky, 8 to 10 minutes. (This is much easier in the mixer because the dough will get very soft from the heat of your hands and you will end up adding more flour than necessary). Grease a large bowl with neutral oil and add the dough. Turn the dough to coat in the oil. Cover with plastic wrap and allow to rise until doubled in size, 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Grease 2 (8-inch) cake pans or cast-iron skillets with 1 tablespoon each of butter.

To make the filling: In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, cardamom and salt. Set aside.

Lightly dust a clean work surface with flour. Roll out the dough into a 24-by-18-inch rectangle. With the long side towards you, brush half of the melted butter all over the surface of the dough. Then sprinkle two-thirds of the sugar-spice mixture over the butter. Fold the top half of the dough over to cover the filling. Repeat by brushing the remaining melted butter on the surface of the dough and sprinkle the remaining sugar-spice mixture over the butter. Fold the dough down once more, in half, to cover the filling. Cut the dough lengthwise down the middle, twist one of the strands around itself a few times, then wrap into a coil. Tuck in the ends and then place in one of the prepared pans. Repeat with the other half of dough. At this point you can cover and refrigerate overnight, or cover with plastic and proof at room temperature until puffed up and doubled in size, about 1 hour. (If refrigerated overnight, remove from the refrigerator and allow to proof at room temperature until puffed up and almost doubled in volume, about 2 hours.)

Place an oven rack in the middle position. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Brush each of the rolls with the beaten egg, then sprinkle over the pearl sugar. Bake the rolls until they are golden brown, start checking at 25 minutes. Remove and cool for a few minutes, then serve warm with whipped butter. Store leftovers in an airtight container on the counter for up to 3 days.

Salisbury Steak
1.5 LB GROUND CHUCK
1/2 TSP. BLACK PEPPER
1 PACK OF LIPTON BEEFY ONION SOUP MIX
1 LARGE EGG
2 TSP. YELLOW MUSTARD
2 TBSP. KETCHUP
1/2 OF ONE PACK OF SODA CRACKERS (BOX HAS
4 PACKS)
2 OR 3 GREEN ONIONS DICED
1 TBSP. WORCESTERSHIRE
Put beef in a bowl. Put in pepper, soup mix, egg,
mustard, ketchup, crackers (crumble with hands),
Worcestershire, green onion and mix well with a
stand mixer with paddle or your hands! Divide into 5
patties make sure they are all about the same size
(about ¾” tall) and place on a baking sheet lined
with parchment paper. Bake at 350 degrees for 30
minutes.
Tip: We recommend serving

with our Mushroom Gravy
Mushroom Gravy
1/2 STICK BUTTER
1/2 PINT FRESH WHITE MUSHROOMS
(CHOPPED)
1 SMALL ONION (SLICED IN STRIPS)
4 CUPS BEEF STOCK (not broth)
5 TBSP. CORN STARCH
1 TBSP. WORCESTERSHIRE
1/2 TSP. BLACK PEPPER
1 CLOVE PRESSED GARLIC (ADD AT END OF
RECIPE)
Melt butter in a large skillet or saucepan. Add
mushrooms and onion and sauté until soft. Pour beef
stock in a large measuring cup and add corn
starch. Whisk until well blended, then add
Worcestershire sauce to stock. Once
mushrooms/onions are soft, add 1/2 tsp. black
pepper then pour in stock.
Simmer everything until the cornstarch clears and
gravy becomes brown. Finally, add 1 clove of pressed
garlic and mix well. Set aside and serve over Salisbury
Steak (recipe on previous page).

One Pan Roast Chicken you can cook anywhere!

As much as I love a vacation, I always miss home-cooked meals. In this video I will show you how you can prepare an epic one-tray roast chicken for your family and friends with minimal ingredients or equipment.

One tray roast chicken

Ingredients

– 1 whole chicken
– 300g baby peppers
– 1 bunch dutch carrots
– 1kg baby potatoes
– 2 tbsp olive oil
– 1 bunch thyme
– 1/4 bunch tarragon
– 1/4 bunch chives
– 2 tbsp flour
– 500ml chicken stock
– Salt to taste

Method
1. Turn your oven on to 180°c fan forced or 200°c with no fan
2. Next, rub oil over the chicken and season with salt
3. Place it in the centre of your tray. Cut the potatoes in half and place around the chicken with the carrots and peppers.
4. Season the veg with salt and drizzle with oil
5. Place into the oven and check every 15 minutes. Don’t be afraid to pull the veg out if it’s ready and then you can pop it back into the oven to heat it again if needed
6. Once the chicken is cooked through (70°c internal temp), remove from the oven and set aside to rest
7. While the chicken is resting, it’s time to make the gravy. Start by pouring all the fat and juices from the tray into a medium pot
8. Then place the chicken roasting dish onto the heat and once it’s hot, pour over 200ml of the stock and use a spatula to remove all the bits from the bottom
9. Add the flour to the pot and over medium heat, whisk this for 3-4 minutes
10. Add the rest of the chicken stock to the pot and add the juices from the tray as well. Whisk well and cook for 6-7 minutes, stirring often
11. Finish with the fresh tarragon and serve next to your roast chicken and veg

HEALTHY OATMEAL PANCAKES with Spinach
1 cup baby spinach, (2 ounces)
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/4 cup egg whites, (2 egg whites or 1 whole egg)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup oat flour
2 tablespoons monk fruit or preferred granulated sweetener
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon sea salt
1.5 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup walnuts

Combine baby spinach, almond milk, yogurt, egg whites, and vanilla in a blender, place on the lid, and blend until liquified and well combined.

Add in oat flour, sweetener, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder. Blend again until everything is combined. The batter may look fairly thin but will thicken as it sits.

Stir in rolled oats and chopped walnuts (or preferred stir-in). Let the batter rest for 10 minutes before making your pancakes as this will allow the rolled oats to soften and the batter to thicken.

Heat a large non-stick saute pan over medium-low heat and coat it with a thin layer of non-aerosol cooking spray, butter, or coconut oil. Once the skillet is hot, drop a scant 1/4 cupful of batter into the pan (I like to keep the pancakes on the smaller side).

Cook gently for 3 to 4 minutes on the first side, until the pancakes look dry around the edges and small bubbles form over the top.

Flip, and cook on the other side for another 1 to 2 minutes. They will be golden on both sides and set through the center. Repeat with the remaining batter.

A hotbed how-to for propagation undercover, pros and cons

A hotbed is a rapidly created compost heap.
But how do you achieve it in the middle of winter, when there is very little green matter to provide the heat?

I show you a common material: fresh horse manure with the straw bedding. I use that because fortunately, my neighbour has a lot of it!
Horses do not digest fibres so much as cows. This makes the compost heap more aerobic and higher in nitrogen.
Nitrogen in composting terms is a green, which is necessary for heat. Plus the straw provides structure, and warmth over a longer period. Another bedding could be woodchip, but it is slower to heat.

This is a summary pf methods I have devised over 10 years of doing this in one corner of my greenhouse. The area of 1.2 m², or 4 ft.², is I reckon the minimum you need to provide a worthwhile amount of heat over a long period of propagation.
I need the heat for different seedlings, from late February until the middle of May. We top up the hotbed every three weeks or so during that period.

Una goduria queste Zeppole! Amo sia la PASTA BIGNÈ che la CREMA AL LIMONE, insieme secondo me sono una combinazione perfetta!
Non amando i dolci troppe dolcì questo è l’ideale!
Si preparano veramente in modo facile (vi faccio vedere come farli a mano senza frullini o planetarie) e vi stupirà per quanto si gonfieranno in forno nonostante siano senza lievito! Tradizionalmente a Cosenza le Zeppole sono fritte (???? https://youtu.be/h8Nhu3hnp7A ) con crema pasticciera, oggi per variare un pò, visto che le ho fatte già in tutte le salse, le ho volute fare proprio secondo i miei gusti personali, con crema al limone, ma se preferite, potete farcirle con la classica crema!
Rifatelo per una ricorrenza, un compleanno o anche per festeggiare i PAPÀ!

Vi consiglio dì farle, con lo stesso impasto potete realizzare i classici bignè o le Éclair o lo Zeppolone! ????????????????
