Hey Ladies, I’ve been watching some of the Chrome nail trends here on YouTube. I think it’s so cute. So I thought to myself, can that look be achieved with eyeshadow pigment?…lol So I dug out some of my old Mac pigment and gave it a try. Along with the Mac pigment, in Corn Flower, I used some random gel polishes and my led lamp. I really like the way it came out. The next time I do this trend, I’ll use a matte gel top coat, because I feel a chrome look shouldn’t be shiny. Anyway please let me know what you think. And please don’t forget to subscribe.   2. Thanks for this! I wonder what all the different types of eyeshadow will do on my nails 😀 will a matte eyeshadow give me matte finish nails? what eyeshadow gives a mirror effect chrome? Can these be done somehow without the gel technique – maybe with mixing pigments with a clear topcoat? cant wait to try all these out!

  10. People get confused between chrome finish and mirror finish. I've used metallic pigments for years (27 year nail tech) and dearly love the chrome effect much much more than the mirror finish. powders from craft stores and drug stores are all just fine as long as you use loose powder and not cake shadow. Honestly not a fan of mirror powders as they show every slight imperfection and scratch.

You can use the eyeshadow pigments to get a chrome effect, but there seems to be a confusion here on youtube with the subscribers in general.  For a CHROME EFFECT you can use the  eyeshadow pigments, but for the MIRROR EFFECT you have to use a pigment that's made especially for the MIRROR EFFECT ON NAILS.

  25. I must try this. I only use eye pigment as eyeshadow antway because it lasts so much longer, I also have plenty of pretty colors. I'm absolutely in love with Younique products. Before I found Younique eye pigments I used Bare Minerals but Bare Minerals is so expensive and only comes in flesh tone colors. I like blue purple and other such colors like that as eyeshadows but that doesn't mean that I cannot use what I have left of my bare minerals for concealer or highlighting. Now all I need to do is get some black nail polish (does it have to be gel polish? ) and one of those curing machines and give it a whirl. Thank you for this awesome, awesome hack.

  26. That's more of an iridescent finish and not a chrome mirror finish. But nice attempt.. Any type of loose colored pigment that isn't an ultra fine micro fine glitter will not chrome out.. And not all ultras chrome out. Btw I'm a nail tech.. Just stopping in researching chrome techniques and happened on your video.. Beautiful color!! Purple is my favorite!! 😍

  28. It's nice but it doesn't look all the way chrome. I have nail polishes that look like this… I want to see a hack where you can actually see your self in your nail like the real chrome nails…
