  1. I absolutely LOVE your pan!!! Where did you find it?? GLOP sounds yummy.

  2. When I was growing up (I'm in my 60's) my grandmother would make something similar to this called Cowboy's stew. It started with ground meat of your choice and chopped onion, then add, canned corn, canned beans, canned tomatoes, canned green beans and a couple of cut up potatoes. She said you added whatever spices or herbs you could find, if you had a cup of rice you could add that in instead of the potato. The veggies could also be exchanged by what was available, canned peas, okra, just whatever you could put together. It was easy to grow potatoes, zucchini, onions, tomatoes and beans, so they were all almost always added.

  3. My mother used to make slop as our poor days food, its interesting people call cheap recipes unappealing names (slop is dried soya protein chunks cooking/rehydrated in a veg stock and then tinned tomatoes, onions and a bit of soya source add, then its chucked over rice btw)

  4. My dad would call anything he made that was experimental "glop". Some of it was quite good. This brought back memories of my childhood when we'd have glop for dinner.

  5. Walmart seems to carry canned Italian Zucchini…just FYI, this was fun recipe…

  6. It'd be even better if you sprinkled in some rice and let it cook in the liquid to make it more of a hearty meal 😀

  7. I make something very similar, with beef, onion, bell pepper, corn, and ranch style beans the broth from the beans give it a good flavor. You can add fried potatoes to make it stretch. I call it Cowboy Skillet. My 35 year old son loves it.

  8. This doesn’t seem like a hard time meal; I think this is how a lot of Americans cook everyday.????????

  9. This looks delicious. Gonna try it, but with Rotel instead of the tomatoes. And I'll pour it over rice or macaroni.

  10. My first thought is to pair this with mashed potatoes… then I realised that that’s basically just shepherd’s pie lol

  11. Canned zuchini is combined with tomaroes. It is usually labeled as stewed Italian tomatoes and zuchini I make my own instead of using the canned

  12. I make this type of thing all the time but never knew it had a name. I have just been winging it. It’s also good if you add barley or cooked rice ????

  13. As you discovered, the amount of seasoning during cooking needs to be significantly more than you put in or what seems proper. You put too little in. Post-cooking seasoning is lighter. Also, though the turkey is fully cooked, it's a bit over-cooked by thoroughly browning before adding the rest of the ingredients. Better, cook to nearly fully cooked, then it'll finish as the rest of the dish is made. The meat ends up better mouth feel and juicier. Just sayin'.

  14. We make it, it's delicious, the combination of the mixed veggies ???????????? and the tomatoes ???? add some ????️???? Yummy ????❤️????????

  15. My mother used to make something she called Glop, but it was quite different:
    Ground hamburger
    Frozen mixed vegetables
Ketchup and water for the sauce
    Macaroni
Mix it all together, simmer until the macaroni is fully cooked.

It was both an easy dinner and one that we kids requested when asked to pick a meal while she was making her menu plan.

    for the sauce.

  16. It would have been more gloppy with the zucchini. But the spices would have been more crucial because of how watery zucchini is.

  17. My mom made something similar to these, but with sliced potatoes, called 'Providence Pudding' because someone named Providence gave her the recipe.

  18. LOL! You said in a previous video when you were a kid that you ate corn from the can. I do till this day and I'm 68. Thumbs up Granddaughter (-:

  19. Several seconds 0:11 in an my fave part is when you hike up your glasses you’re too cute Emmy !!

  20. I love the fancy titles and side notes!! I’ve always enjoyed your subject matter and style.

  21. It's called glop because you glop the whole can of corn right into the pot without draining, then you don't have to add water or salt.

  22. My parents would make this into a soup version to clean up the canned veggies in the cupboard. Sometimes it would have 5 or 6 different veggies so it was different every time.

  23. They stopped making the canned zucchini which is really too bad because it was delicious. Now I make and can my own. Zucchini, tomatoes , onions, garlic, tomatoe paste, Italian spices. Just mix together and let stew for a couple of hours. Delicious hot or cold, as a side or sauce for pasta
