This is the only problem when a culture makes social drinking important and a key part of socialisation and integration. I'm also allergic but use to drink because I felt as tho I HAD TO in order to fit in with this casual alcoholism my country has. Going to the pub everyday after work to drink is an addiction noone here talks about because it's so normal.

Got crazy drunk and passed out… don’t you love the way people make assumptions and love to spread them? Allergies to alcohol are a real thing. My college boyfriend lived in Edinburgh during his 18th birthday – legal drinking age there – and that’s how he found out he’s allergic to alcohol. They went on a pub run, a bunch of mates taking him from pub to pub as a right of passage (kind of the same as here in the US when you turn 21) and he got separated from everyone else, he couldn’t keep up and decided he really didn’t feel good and hailed a cab, but he woke up in the hospital.

Worst interview was a job I wanted but a boss that was miserable. I took the job thinking I wouldn't be aligned with her. Bingo was on her team. It was awful but I ultimately prevailed!

Man all through my twenties it seemed like jobs didn’t want to hire me. Just getting out of college and everything. Then I started temp work and they would tell me to never put my address on the resume because I was black and lived in a black community. Jobs usually reject those resumes. People will call black people lazy all day and never understand what we go through.

As someone who doesn't drink because of watching my family do it, people just think I'm a wuss or something stupid. Don't let them get you. They're just to stupid to know that people can have allergies to literally anything
