20/20 means reading 5 minute-of-arc letters at 20 feet or 6 meters. The 20/20 letter is 3/8 inch high. The "width" of the black letters is 1 minute-of-arc. The resolving "limit" of the human eye is considered to be 1 minute-of-arc. Best, Otis
