  1. Usually mayo recipes say to add oil very slowly while blending. This just goes to prove there is a better way 🙂

  2. I’ve never realized just how easy it is to make mayo! Yippee I’m so excited! Just bought a stick blender too!! Thanks Chef John!!😃

  3. Well, "may-nayz" is slightly better than the often-heard "man-ayz," but it's still missing a syllable. It's may-on-ayz.

  4. I feel like there should have been way more love for the "don't sweat the technique" hiphop reference.

  5. Did I miss Chef John say that you can’t really use olive oil – the flavour is much too strong.

  6. If John would just come out with cookware called freakishly….I'd buy an entire new set of shit.

  7. This stuff is so good!
I just made another batch… Made dozens/year already.
    So good.

  8. I wanted a sandwich and didn't have any mayo, but I didn't want to leave the house to go buy it. Now I have mayo. Thank you, Chef.

  9. Cayenne in mayo, he has lost it. I have two brands of mayo, my favorite in a jar (Hellman's) and some single serve packets from Kraft. Neither one has Cayenne in it. They don't have garlic or basil either but that is the name of this mayo. It is just that Capt. Cayenne is a one trick pony and has to add cayenne to everything he makes. He probably puts it on his tooth paste and in his coffee.

  10. Just watched this and the 2007 video back to back…both are informative but Chef John has evolved into one of the very best content creators on YouTube and one of my favorite to watch…even when I'm not interested in what he's making.

  11. How funny I just made a basil garlic mayo (half olive, half avocado), and I love my hand blender. I added Parmagiana, any creative ideas for things to do with it, besides sandwiches?

  12. Non-food use for an immersion blender, homemade soap. Similar process but takes longer.

  13. Superb Chef John! I MUST invest in this immersion blender. Have you ever achieved this effect with a whisk?🍷Cheers

  14. Ive been eating eggs straight out of the chickens ass for 30 years. Ive never had salmonella.

  15. I think I want to try this tonight but make Bruschetta on top of the toast points. Thanks Chef. Shout to to you from Niagara.

  16. Chef John has taught me that "Shaka Shaka" and "Poka Poka" are professional culinary terms.
