How to build a Ford F-150 Lightning? – Full Factory Tour!

I’m a HUGE fan of electric trucks – This video is not sponsored. I flew myself out to Dearborn Michigan to see exactly how the new Electric Ford F-150 Lightning is manufactured. The body of the new truck is actually conveyed in from a separate building using above street passageways. SUPER cool. Ford says the goal is to be manufacturing the F150 Lightning at a yearly rate of 150,000 trucks a year by the end of 2023.

The F-150 Lightning just won the 2023 MotorTrend Truck of the year – so lets see how that truck is built.

  1. I'd be interested to know what the failure rate is when checking things like how watertight it is.

  2. I work at Toyota motor manufacturing Texas (TMMTX) and it’s crazy to me how lenient they are on ppe! We have to wear pants, gloves, hard hats, and sleeves at all times.

  3. I'm a diesel mechanic I can't wait to own an electric truck one day!! Thank you for sharing

  4. The factory tour was awesome! Even more impressive is how they let you roam around; indicates a lot of trust and respect. I hope you get a chance to do the same with the Cybertruck assembly line.

  5. hey i work at a plant that makes wheels for this truck! its amazing to see that's such a small part in the making of this beast

  6. 0:49 I have to disagree Henry ford first assembly line was in highland park Michigan as I born and raised there and most of the original plant is still there used for storage

  7. The coolest robot was the one that installed the front windshield at 4:30. But the cutest robot was the one that takes pictures of every little wire at 8:30

  8. So Ford wouldn't let Zack test drive a F-150 on the rough course? For shame! I woulda loved to see that footage.😁
