skip the requirements download the zip file and follow the instructions

after rooting finished it said device is locked, status code: 0 battery ok fastboot reason: flash failure usb connected. my phone is stuck on a screen!

Is this method obsolete? I have a Droid Razr M, JB 4.1.2. I keep trying to root it after going through a year of a buggy phone. I got recently went into Recovery and COMPLETELY formatted my phone so rooting it would be easier, but it's not.
I HAVE installed the drivers, 100%. The drivers have been on my computer for over a year now, and I DID update them before rooting.
