I did something similar to this video, I sharpened it and improved the bevel
I didn't like the paint on the handle so I scraped and sanded it off. This revealed the grain of the wood, which is quite attractive, and made it more comfortable to hold

I would be super careful putting the knife in to the sheath without a welt. You could cut the stitches with the sharpness of the blade. But absolutely beautiful design and execution.
