Thank you for that education! I will stop buying those green, paper plastic cartons! ๐๐๐ค
A glass jar of better than bullion costs a bit more upfront, but since something like 1tsp makes 1 cup of broth it will last forever and actually be pretty cheap in the long run.
If you can swing it, Costco sells better than bullion in a size thatโs about three time the amount of the jar in the regular grocery stores and itโs only a few dollars more. I canโt remember if they offer the veggie one, but they have a few types of chicken, beef, roasted garlic, etc.
Just fyi, if you are buying a Tetra pack from a company called terra cycle they do their own in-house recycling you just have to find a place to drop it off
Oils are hard to find like I donโt live around those refill places at least I dont think. Iโve been trying to find one
Also, the tetrapack option is very energy inefficient. Having to ship gallons and gallons of water from factory to store inside the product is idiotic, same as with laundry detergent and hand soap. And it only allows shipping in thick containers made of spill-proof materials like those plastic and aluminum hybrids seen in the video.
or just buy what you want
Iโm obsessed with making my own broth. I freeze them and use them when I need em. I save the bones from meat and once Iโm done using them for broth I clean them and make bone meal. Best thing ever!!!
I make my own veggie broth when I have enough scraps, but in-between I have my homemade bouillon powder that's made from nutritional yeast and spices. It's been the most cost effective option.
How about milk alternatives? Always a struggle!!
The problem with the broth in powder form is MSG. I can't use most Mexican seasonings because of MSG. I know people don't think it's a big deal until you know someone who is allergic to MSG. It's a bad substance that confuses your body and introduces intense levels of sodium that confuses your body and damages your blood pressure. If THEY know high salt content or high sugar content can kill you quickly by causing diabetes and yet all our SAD is high sugar/salt. I'm just saying THEY aren't rooting for your retirement years. Brain fog and mental health issues are great distractions.
Hey Jesus Loves you, and He died For you so you can spend eternity with Him.
I love making my own brother especially bone broth.
