Welcome back to a series we call “That Cost How Muuuuch?!”. As the title suggests, this is a series where we look at products that literally make ourselves ask “that cost how much???” and figure out if we can essentially DIY them for a lesser price.

In today’s video, I am going to be DIYing some highly requested projects! The Bookworm Bookshelf by Kartell is a home decor piece we’ve wanted to make for a while now, so we finally decided to tackle it! Next is a pendant light from CB2, the Bruno Light. It’s absolutely stunning but it is also $699 and while she’s gorgeous…that’s a bit too much in my opinion.

Let us know your final thoughts on how you think these projects turned out!

  1. Beautiful lamp, such a good diy project! ❤
Also absolutely love Beckys harness belt! Where is it from? ????

  2. It would be interesting to also know how much time each DIY took you. 'Cause you know… time is money ! 😉

  3. You could always stain the shades with tea. Just be careful to stain evenly.

  4. Heat from bulbs melting hot glue gun glue? Low gauge wire rusting out and popping?

  5. Talent just exceeds everything great jobs. You are fantastic. I love the chandelier lamp. Wow!

  6. fun! taking it a step further and cutting the edge banding in half width wise and also wrapping them all int he same high quality linen would feel even closer!

  7. You all are fearless creators. You inspire me to try new things on my YouTube channel.

  8. Okay this is good. I think the drum shade would be the hardest to get at a low price but it's hardwired giving it a finished look. Beautiful lamp. I'll never look at lampshades the same after seeing this.

  9. I am curious to know just how long this lasts. Because this uses a light bulb (that is hot1) I also wonder IF it is fire safe? Many cloth type materials are not!

  10. I think it would be cool to cover the shelves on the bookshelf with dust/book jackets, so that it gives the illusion the books are floating!

  11. Zip ties instead of wire? Frightening seeing exposed wire next to electrics.

  12. Honestly, just the addition of edge banding on the lampshades is a great hack for making super-simple lampshades look more expensive.

  13. Could the bookshelf have been made even more affordable if made with a thin aluminum sheet? I think the original is metal right? It would also be cool if the book support portions were covered with book covers/bindings to make everything look like it was floating.

  14. I actually really like how it looks with the shades being different colors! It’s kind of fun that way!
