Mary Berry explores the wonderful world of simple comfort food, bringing fuss-free recipes that can warm the cockles and lift the spirits.
For many of us, nothing hits the spot quite like those dishes that evoke memories of home. Whether it is recreating family favourites, keeping traditions alive or celebrating with festive feasts, this is the food that makes us feel safe and sound.
In this episode, Mary is off to explore how different families use food to create their own wonderful sense of home.
Mary meets a father-and-daughter team who have taken their home cooking to the streets with their own food van and a family who have created a slice of Sicily in north London.
Mary spends a magical day and evening with a family celebrating Diwali, helping them to prepare the feast and decorate the home. And Mary also makes some of her own family favourites, including a hearty bolognaise bake with a burrata and heritage tomato salad, paneer and roast vegetable curry, roast chicken with melting onions, and a wild bramble mousse.

Lets do a TOP 5 LIST IN ORDER of Who is the best TV Chef … The most TV friendly… For me it is either Mary B or Jamie O Mary is coming up 86.. Yet she has TV elegance and a great voice over voice as well as talking to camera engagement. Although she sounds quite posh she is for everybody.. Jamie who is not posh can communicate and engage also… They both understand how to allow a little space for us to follow.. Who are your Top 5 TV Chefs Mine is Jamie Oliver Mary Berry Slater Hairy Bikers and Lorraine Pascal…not Fanny Cradock.. who was in control of TV in those days?
