Mina and Karen Tackle a Charming Brick House with a Surprise Twist! | Good Bones | HGTV

Mina and Karen are tackling their first renovation of a brick house, and although it has tons of charm and character, it also has problems that need to be fixed. Plus, it’s in a new neighborhood for them, which adds to the risk. With the help of the demo crew, Mina and Karen plan to open up this little house and create 3.5 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. They give it a rustic, schoolhouse style by adding grayish wood flooring and two amazing antique farmhouse sinks.

Unstoppable mother-daughter duo Karen E Laine and Mina Starsiak transform rundown houses into stunning urban remodels in Indianapolis. See this dynamic team in action as they revitalize their hometown one property at a time.

  1. Why do you keep painting the inside of houses in a grey tone? That’s so cold & basement, dungeon feeling. BLAH!
I know paint color can be changed, but to me, walking in and getting that cold, basement feeling, I would not be able to get past the wall color, and I’m good about looking past wall color and decor. That house just seems cold and uninviting with that wall color.

  2. They're still calling things "master"? Their style is still tacky as usual. And their attitude is still pushy with a touch of rude..as usual. This show is a huge turn off.

  3. Mina, it doesn’t matter if you’re French or not; voila is still pronounced with a “v” sound.

  4. Lol nothing wrong with becoming the same women Mama's awesome , so very talented , creative and kind . ???????????? Beautiful house great work !

  5. That is one of the most unique and thrilling backsplashes I've even seen. Almost has the feel of a picket fence

  6. The kitchen is a little too open. Not much counter space, and the range, sink, and fridge are all on the same wall. I’d have reconfigured it and put in a peninsula. I loved the rest of the house, though.

  7. The camera work was way too fast during the reveal. It didn't even show all the way to the base of the outside of the house. Bummer. They always overdecorate, but some of the pieces were beautiful. I love when Karen makes things out of parts of the old home. So special.

What a gorgeous home. No doubt whoever bought it fell in love with it. The floor plan, the sinks, everything. It's so fresh and open. ????
