Hey guys! I’m Alexandra Gater and I show you how to do rental-friendly upgrades and DIY projects on a budget. New videos every Saturday! Today I am making over a small patio makeover with lots of renter-friendly changes like string lighting and a removable, outdoor accent wall. I’m decorating this patio in a Midcentury Modern style in an attempt to bring the indoors, out!

  1. Wow! Every episode you really kick it out of the park with friendly cosy fun makeovers. I really like the episodes where the space does not look like it could be made over the way you do it. Your team though as well. Very talented bunch of folk.

  2. You guys are so fun to watch. I love the patio you styled It is amazing. It as so beautiful and practical. You can do wonders with small spaces inside or out.

  3. The transformation of the patio is amazing! You did an excellent job with the colors, the lighting and the furniture!

  4. Everything u did made it amazing..But…The lattice brought it all together!! Incredible

  5. 6/17/23 I really loved the design. But! I feel a White rug was good for this space because of the amount of dirt that will land on it. It would have been great for some protective over head covering. It could have protected the furniture on rainey days. She also sounded as though she wanted a larger table for friends to gather around. A large umbrella could've worked too. Keep up the great work Alexandra, be blessed ????????????

  6. Imy so happy to see you on the feed! I usually never notice when a YouTuber stops posting but definitely noticed! And happy to watch this video ????❤

  7. Hi????????I wish you could do mine I'm in the ATL , but I'll continue to get ideas from you????????????

  8. Omw Sooo preety..Blush and highlighter shades please???????????????????????????????????????????????

  9. This looks so beautiful! I'm surprised the landlord let you drill into the brick and the fence – that's great!

  10. I loved this makeover. I would used everything on my patio especially the sofa . This looks and feels cozy. Great job guys

  11. This is definitely one of my favorite makeovers in a while. I love the departure in style and the combination/challenge of form and function. I also like that Alexandra only really had two
Not outdoor friendly things, the picture and throw, and neither are crucial to the design or hard to have indoor uses for/easy to remove.

  12. My first response (my responses always start from functionality) is the wisdom of moving the BBQ grill next to the door.
There's the fire safety factor of brick behind the grill, then there's the proximity to the kitchen for food prep and food safety (meat needs refrigeration and protection from insects).
The only needed addition would be an L-shaped metal shelf well above (but in reach) of the BBQ, for seasonings (maybe with hangers for cooking utensils). Shelf alone needs to clear the BBQ's hinged hood by a few inches.

Y'know, with a few sturdy S-hooks additional Bistro folding chairs could be hung from each of the two sides of the trellis. Sure, it pushes the table out by a few inches, but that won't matter all that much. It can move the Bistro table from al fresco dining to early evening gaming table for four, maybe five! Would love to see a long metal swing-arm to hold a candlelight lamp centered over that Bistro table…

I would have liked to see the furniture coverings.
Especially given the birdfeeder (and the string lights wires) that will attract birds, it would be smart to keep fabric seating covered when home alone. It's easy enough to clean bird droppings off wooden/plastic chairs and tabletops, but so much harder to clean woven fabric. Might also be wise to roll back the indoor/outdoor rug against the sofa legs, to avoid dead leaf tannin stains; the rug can be rolled back out before company arrives and the curling dampened to flatten it out again.

Beyond that, I think Alexandra ups her decorating/styling game with every video! Great choices.
No one elevates a space quite as perfectly as Team AG!!!
We all SEE YOUR LIGHT –
    We all see your light!

I have to say, I appreciate the use of color that moves past pink shades. I'm not a 'pink' girl and never was. But I appreciate femininity and decor and style. I lean to dark wood tones and saturated jewel-colors mixed with foliage. I don't mind wrought iron or chrome, but I feel almost allergic to gold (I'm tolerant to weathered brass, but not in excess presence). This particular rendition is one I personally would be happy to live with.
Reassuring you, I have really liked ALL of Alexandra's stylings; she is very talented and has great vision. I just wish I could see less pink tones and more saturated colors.
