Stripping Concrete Forms Off The Front Porch

I’m getting ready to strip off these concrete forms.
We poured this little porch last week and now I wanna get the forms off.
First, I remove the 3” deck screws I used to screw the form board to the side of the house.
Then I remove the screws holding the two form boards together at the corner.
I had used TorqueMaster masonry screws to attach the forms to the foundation.
They have a T-25 head which works so much better than a hex head in my opinion.
Now I could have used form release or something on the inside of this wood so it would have come apart easier, but this is nothing that a crowbar can’t handle.
Here you can see some of the Rub-R-Wall waterproofing stuck to the form board.
But this isn’t a problem because this area on the foundation is actually higher up than the finish grade.
I’m really happy with how this slab turned out- there’s no voids or honeycombing.
I had used ¾’ plywood to form up this porch and reinforced it with 2x4s-it worked great, nothing moved or bowed.
This front porch gets fully enclosed with a stone arched opening in the front and a curved roof on top.
Let me know in the comments if you want to see me frame the curved roof. @hausplans

  1. use deiseal it works just as well as form release but is a hell of alot cheaper its what i used when i finished concrete

  2. CAN YOU PLEASE REMEMBER TO ADD YOUR DOGGIE (THE NEW GUY) TO EACH SHORTS OR VIDEOS. EVEN IF IT'S JUST A PHOTO OF HIM GIVENING YOU THE SIDE EYE OR ANYTHING. HE IS SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL.

  3. I've used corrugated plastic to line smaller forms in the past. The plastic that they make cheap signs out of. Concrete really doesn't like to stick to the stuff.

  4. The New Guy 🐕🦺⛑️ needs to inspect and get back to you if this meets the @hausplans build standard 👷

  5. I always use the torx now those pozi/phillips head screws always want to force the bit out, the torx uses the flats to turn the screw so doesn't force out the bit, so much easier and far less effort

  6. “Let me know in the comments if you want to see [BLANK]” The answer will always be yes!

  7. Can you show us how you to the arch? And the stone from start to finish please!!!
