Top Ten Ideas for Upcycling & Elevating Thrift Store Finds

In this video, I demonstrate ten different ways to upcycle and elevate your thrift store finds, so that they can “reach their potential.” These methods include incorporating fabric, using ribbons and trims, adding natural elements, decoupaging (especially with inexpensive napkins), adding pretty paper, adding small embellishments (such as unique buttons), using rub on transfers or stickers, adding faux or real plants and flowers, and incorporating metallic accents. I will transform 10 of my own thrift store finds to show you how these ideas can take a thrift store item from so so to spectacular! Hope you enjoy the video and are inspired to try some thrift flips of your own!

  1. The pressed flowers in the wooden bowl were lovely. And that lamp! No wonder it’s your favourite! Thank you for another delightful video.

  2. Genius! Always a pleasure, and an inspiration to watch your channel – thanks ????????????????????????????????

  3. Your lamp turned out stunningly! I was hoping you had it for sale in your store 🙂 Thanks for sharing all your great ideas.

  4. You never disappoint ! Your creativity is simply amazing. I love the imaginative uses you find for all sorts of things ❤ and how beautifully you transform them. I think the Morris fabric frame and the dishtowel covered metal box were my favourites. Thank you so much.

  5. I love everything you do, but that wooden piece with the hook is gorgeous! I also love the wooden bowl with the dried flowers. Thank you for such great ideas, Sherry!

  6. I love thrifting but, half the time, I don't know what to do with the thrifted item once I bring it home. You have given me so many creative ideas to use! My favorite is the decoupaged lamp too plus the wall hook with the rub on transfers. Thank you for always providing us with your creativity!

  7. I truly love the lamp with the blue & white napkins. I also really loved the coat hook w/IOD transfers

  8. Such great ideas. Love what you did with the box and the frame with the branch. It's always a joy when you have a new post.

  9. Your work is so inspiring! I just love all your projects! You made that (formerly) ugly metal box into something wonderful. And the lamp is masterful! My favorite is the wooden bowl. Though simple, it just really appeals to me, as I love bringing nature into my home. Though I'm trying to downsize, as my decor evolves, I hope to purchase something from you in the future. ????

  10. You knocked it out of the park with some of the items today, I could not pick just one , great video

  11. ALL art is “one of a kind”!

I loved the green metal box…came out amazing!!
Question: shouldn’t the handle have gone on top or was it soley for decoration?

  12. I am like a child in a candy store, just waiting for your videos. Thank you for being you.
