  2. Vit d is it low because you're sick? Or are you sick because it's low? I think I'll pop off to the pharmacy and grab myself some steroids… What I live in the UK so I can't, okay I'll go but any hormon then, again what I can't… So why the hell am I able to go buy hormone d, not a vitamin, and encouraged to super dose it. I know cholesterol is bad right they told us that also, how did that workout folks… lol irony time, sup d3 completely deranges you lipid profile jacking up you ldl count thus more room for it to become oxidised.
Also these papers do not look at active d (1,25,oh2d3) but the inactive (25,ohd3) form… If you're sick or inflamed its the active you need to know as that's the one which is stable unless required to activate immune system, the seasonal! H one 25ohd3 is designed to go up and down as the body releases it out of storage to convert to active… and storage d does not actually indicate amount you have stored either.
Last point, although so much existence shown d supplementing is terrible for you, supplementing shuts down the skins formation of 7 dehydrocholesterols ( step 1 in d formation) this on its own is highly dangerous as it should be there (higher seasonally) to absorb the uv light preventing dna damage but also folate damage, good luck to those super dosing this.

  3. The American Heart Association, Harvard University, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, Dr. Dean Ornish, and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn all agree that saturated fat increases blood cholesterol levels and heart disease risk. However, some online chiropractors, personal trainers, and meat salesmen claim that saturated fat does not have any impact on blood cholesterol levels and heart disease. In 1990, Dr. Ornish submitted a study to The Lancet titled "Can lifestyle changes reverse coronary heart disease?" The study showed that a plant-based diet could reverse heart disease. The Lancet is a weekly peer-reviewed general medical journal, known as one of the world's oldest and best-known general medical journals. The multi-billion dollar beef, pork, and poultry industries have never funded a study showing that their products can reverse or halt the progression of heart disease. If these industries were to fund such a study, and the results showed that their products contributed to heart disease, it would negatively impact their sales and profits. It is not a lack of money that prevents them from funding such studies, but other reasons. Gullible people tend to rely on clownish online chiropractors, personal trainers, and meat salesmen for heart health advice instead of actual experts. This gullibility has negative health consequences, as it is a failure of social intelligence, leading a person to be easily tricked or manipulated into an ill-advised course of action. Until there is a study showing that an animal-based diet can reverse heart disease, there is nothing to debate.

  4. I had very high D levels 136ng/mL and my calcium was just under 10 (normal) I take k2 mk7 at I believe 100mcg or 120mcg. I don't take a set dose of d3. But, I am taking less than before that test. I do have autoimmune issues. i may need more than others. As lower doses mades my skin worse. Though it may be random. Its very hard to tell. And figure out what works long term. I'm trying 50k IU weekly with a few 5000iu or 10k here and there. On my whim. It doesn't seem to be an issue and. Drink about half a gallon of homemade yogurt a week as well as taking whey protein. It seems the vitamin K2 is regulating well. I also take a decent amount of magnesium.

  5. Mike the theory of supplement /supplementation is so 1970's. Why do you hang on to this false and outdated theory?

  6. Helpful as my mum got a flu/cough during covid times and lost major muscle loss in legs and overall.

  7. I'm mixed race with freckles so I don't like the sun,i use suncream, niacin and D3/K2 supplement…

  8. Hi Mike, Thanks for the video to emphasize the importance of Vitamin D and its probable role in Diabetes prevention.
As a clinician, I do recommend Vitamin D3 supplements to my patients to keep their levels close to normal and myself take as well.
But, I understand from research that Vitamin D receptors have been found on many tissues and organs and thus it's role in the prevention of various disorders is postulated.
But, this appears to be more empirical than absolute substantial.
Even the articles on Medscape showed inconclusive evidence.
My take is that : science is yet to fully understand the importance of Vitamin D in our health. The laboratory normal range can be different for individuals and probably requires a re-look. One should take at least 1000 IU of Vitamin D3 daily because of its incomplete and/or insufficient absorption through skin. There is no harm in taking this much dose. If anyone prefers natural sunlight for Vitamin D production, one should remember to get exposed to sunlight between 10 am and 2 pm which contains maximum UVB rays for its production without a sunscreen. The sun exposure time is less for Caucasian skin (Fitzpatrick skin type 1 to 3) and more for darker skin (Fitzpatrick skin type 4 and above).
Take Vitamin D supplements but never forget to put into practice a healthy lifestyle.

  9. That’s hilarious about shrooms being more animal than plant ???? love it. I take lions mane every other day, and we feast on morels every spring ♥️

  10. My best friend who is African American needed to have 2, yes 2!! liver transplants due to not getting enough vitamin D!!!!! She was 28 when she found out initially!!!!! No matter your age please take it seriously, your health is no joke! It takes seconds to pop a multivitamin that will save your life!!!!

  11. If Vitamin D can prevent diabetes can Vit D cure diabetes?????
Manila is 14 degrees above equator.
I am 60ng/ml based on my last test

  12. I have to say, my health has changed greatly for the better as I've followed your content. It started with "Hah, this anti-masker from Texas is crazy, let's hear what he has to say." But after two years, I went from coach potato (putting it nicely, I was coach-ridden) to lifting regularly and getting sunshine. I've never felt better. My energy is off the charts! So thank you for all that you do Mike! Keep up the great life-changing vids! Doesn't matter if it's the about usual vitamin D or exercise. It keeps me focused on what matters for my health.

And honestly, I click your new videos first whenever I see them on my recommended. I like to see the latest research and so I don't really look at older videos (more than a few years ago) for health topics. Thanks for updating us on the latest research on important health topics!

  13. I think you may have misspoke at 10:40, a vitamin d level of 59ng/mL (mid range) would be more reasonable than 59nmol/L (low end of the "normal" range) for optimal health.

  14. Sunlight also has lots of near and far infrared light, especially if you are around green plants. Plants reflect IR light much better than buildings or dirt.
There seem to be several positive effects from this infra red light on mitochondria, including ranking up ATP production, encouraging more mitochondrial growth and production of natural antioxidants. Even winter sun has plenty of IR, so probably worth a winter sun bath even without the vitamin D.

  15. Don't you find it odd that those CO firemen are deficient in vit D? Maybe the limits for vit D are too high? Our ancestors were super healthy and vit D was never an issue. Sometimes I wonder if the vit D push is just to sell supplements.
