Why this VERY weird MTB setup might actually be better

Update: This is now the weirdest daily bike I own. The Tall Bike and the Slingshot bike are weirder but they don’t really count.

Now, we have a hardtail with trail bike geometry, a 120mm Lefty suspension fork, BERD Polyethylene spokes, a 29″ wheel up front, 27.5″ rear, the “EDS” wireless derailleur, Magura Vyron wireless dropper post, Rev Grips, an oblong chainring, and a frame filled with expansion foam.

Despite how weird and uncommon this bike and its parts are, it rides incredibly! Today we’re going to push it to its limits.

  1. where can I get one of those tubes to keep my break hose straight? i want one!!!! ????

  2. hey its Seth n his new lefty mullet 'boik'! lets send it!…..not to the hospital!

  3. I will say Seth I use my epic for more downhill stuff than my Specialized Enduro. Granted I do live in Athens Georgia so there aren't really downhills here in general

  4. Funny that Seth I ride 26 in the rear and 27.5 in the front ????????. Always loved the lefty too…

  5. It's an excellent fork, but it's expensive and not everyone takes care of it, but there's no doubt that it's excellent

  6. Huh? 29" wheel is the interior diameter of the wheel right? So you are only going to do the radius of the wheel, when you put it on, so only raise it by 0.75" (29-27.5 = 1.5/2)

  7. A Five inch fork is way more than enough for anything, And even First Gen Lefty's were tested in 4x racing.

  8. To be fair I rode a line on a BMC two stroke definitely did not break my collar bone but the xc bike has nothing to do with it.
