Yoga Tips For The Hands

In this 18-minute workshop style practice, we work to bring some awareness to the sweet hands and wrists.

With so many joints in the hands, this is a body part that is susceptible to injury and arthritis if not properly taken care of and where many yogi’s often experience wrist fatigue or pain.

Optimal alignment and weight distribution in the hands and wrists are very important and in this video, Adriene guides the proper hand placement in poses like downward facing dog.

Stretch out the fingers, warm up the wrists, and set up for success with a strong foundation.

  3. Really did not want to Thank Adriene on YouTube but since I cannot email her hopefully, she will see this; wanted to send out a huge Texas Thank You for your explanation on pressuring thumb into fingers one by one to help our wrist. On November 20th, 2022, my husband had a stroke at age 53. While he was still in the ER I started doing those movements with his hand and then mine with his. The stroke affected his left side. Point, when he started rehab, they could not figure out why his hand and wrist were the first to start to have feeling and some movement because in stroke patient's feeling normally comes back at the shoulder and works down. He started telling everyone what I learned from you. What we have come up with is from me working with movement and circulation on the left hand this helped him regain hand movement. Even though it was shaky and did not have a lot of control it was still moving. Thank you for listening Rhonda
