  1. Ima just say this… I’m so exited to start my zero waste journey cause I spend 100+ $ on grocery’s and it’s not good cause it’s always junk food

  2. I didn’t know you could find loose mushrooms. I pretty much gave up mushrooms thinking I’d only find them wrapped in plastic.

  3. Hi Christie, I’m not sure you’re aware, but metal cans are still lined with a synthetic (polyester/acrylic) liner. BPA is a component of plastic, so BPA-free simply means that the liners in those cans don’t contain that component (like you can buy a BPA-free reusable plastic water bottle). Some food/beverage products can react with metal, which is one reason why they are used. I totally agree with your mantra about more people living zero waste imperfectly, but thought you might be interested to know that if you didn’t already! I didn’t even think about cans having a liner until earlier this year when I started following microplastics researchers. “The more you know,” right? 🙂

  4. I was on my bike cycling home from meeting a friend and I saw this new whole foods shop opened up, around a 15 minutes cycle away from my home. (We have a couple whole foods shops where I live in England but none of them are actually zero/low waste. They’re just vegan products and everything is in plastic and packaged. There’s no where near here that have bulk bins or anything.)

So when I saw the new one on my way home that’s kinda closer to my house I decided to go in and see. Didn’t expect much as I tend to get my hopes up to finally find some bulk bins yet to find out they’re all in massive plastic bags.
ANYWAY (I ramble) I went in and it seemed to be like all the rest, but slightly better. I circle the store (they’re all hella small) and right by the door (idk how I didn’t see this before) low and behold: BULK BINS!

Not many, just a floor to ceiling small wall of goodness (lol)

I didn’t have any jars or bags with me at the time but you bet imma shop there.

    The end

  5. question! I live near a fred meyer — do they allow you to use jars for the bulk bins or do I have to bring a bag?

  6. New subscriber 🙋‍♀️ I absolutely love all of your videos. They are incredibly useful and inspiring! Thank you 🙏

  7. NEW SUBSCRIBER! 🙋🏻‍♀️ LOVING TOUR CHANNEL AND YOUR ENERGY!

  8. Can you do a what you eat in a week video in curious as you are vegan what you make with them 🙂

  9. You should try raw califlower with banana mixed with natural yoghurt (not sure what the vegan option for natural yoghurt is) a vegetarian showed me it tastes delicious

  10. Wow….that's nute that you spend $38/week. Our family of 3 spends $850/month on groceries and sometimes more. Geez. I have more room to grow with our purchases and being more conscious of low waste….but still that is nuts!

  11. There's one glaringly obvious thing that you don't address in this video (which makes a huge impact negating a lot of the benefits of "zero waste" food shopping) is that you drove to the store. You may have your reasons for it but I think that in a video on this subject you should explain what those reasons are. Otherwise it just seems like you don't even consider that to be a factor in a low-impact lifestyle, when it clearly is. Especially when you're buying so little. I often buy twice that at a store which is a 25 minute walk from home or I take the bus to one that's further (but cheaper). I invested in a shopping trolley (like what old ladies tend to use) to make it easier and before I had that I used a big rucksack or my suitcase.

  12. I am interested to know why you compost your paper bag and not recycle it? I don't know enough to understand. would you explain a little bit please 🙂 Love this video!

  13. i know this is an older video but how do you purchase your oats and flour in bulk with the glass jars. My bulk store weighs the product when i buy it and if i put the flour in my jar when they weigh it takes the weight of the jar as well

  14. You are so absolutely beautiful, I swear I’m in Love with you and your sweethearted outlook on Life. You’re my new favorite channel I can watch you shop and make cute hand gestures. Incredible sad we are on opposite sides of the US. I absolutely need people like you in my life so wished hugs & 😘

  15. how do you (suggest) go(ing) about avoiding plastic when buying fruit, mainly berries, both frozen and non. i eat a mostly raw vegan diet and have yet to find strawberries and blueberries not in plastic /:

  16. GUYS!!! I couldn't find any cloth bags and idk how to sew but…They have 50 cent reuseable bags at Walmart!! That's the closest store to me that has produce available to me. The bags do say Walmart but if you don't care then they're there!! The size isn't bad, either.

  17. The Mason Jar company has disposable labeling stickers, which simply dissolve in water while you wash your jars 😁👍🏻

  18. Omg I just realized that I hit a thumb up right after opening your video and it’s not even started! Thank you for making me happy with your videos!

  19. You are such a cool chick! And really beautiful too! Thanks for the information!

Question: What kind of toothpaste do you use???

  20. Oh my God. I feel like a moron. I have been trying to figure out how to use my bulk bin with my jars…. I have produce cloth bags… I am bright.

  21. If you are Canadian from Montreal, do you speak french? Is englsih your first language?
