After Losing Everything in an Earthquake, She Built This Amazing Tiny House!

After losing her home and everything she owned in the Christchurch Earthquake of 2011, Vicki packed her bags and traveled to Australia where she built a whole new life for herself, including an amazing tiny house on wheels!

Her tiny home is beautifully built and perfectly designed to fit her lifestyle. Situated on an idyllic permaculture farm amongst the tropical forest, this really is an amazing place to call home.

Losing her home and all of her possessions in the earthquake has encouraged Vicki to build a new life focused on the things that are truly important to her and focusing on happiness, not things. There’s a lot to love about this tiny house and the inspiring woman who built it.

We hope you enjoy the tour of this stunning tiny house!

  1. All over the world, we have met many people who have lost homes in natural disasters and almost without exception the one thing they all tell us is that the unfortunate event forced them to really consider what's truly important and to focus their attention towards those things. Vicki has done such a fantastic job in building both a home and a life true to her values. We hope you enjoy this tour. With Love, Bryce & Rasa

  2. This show has told me a lot and I've learned that living in a tiny house is one of the most beautiful thing that anyone with the law income can do when you have a property where you can put your house

  3. Beautiful tiny home, she has wonderful planning skills and I love those copper lights!!! The whole place looks just stunning, land and home.

  4. Just here to appreciate how genuinely supportive and happy bryce is. Your tiny house is super small? great! it's the biggest trailer you could find? Great as well. You're off the grid? awesome! You plug into the grid? How comfortable. I love that about this channel. ❤

  5. I want to be here. Her tiny house is just sooo so beautiful and her surroundings is paradise.

  6. There are so many beautiful touches in this home and even more than seeing them, I can actually feel the calm and serenity in watching this story. Thank you Vicki, for sharing this special outcome.
Can you tell me what oil was used on the bench top, please? It has such a beautiful sheen to it.

  7. Such a stunningly beautiful tiny house! I also love how she respects her need for healing and peace in her home. I am also resettling after a series of major life stressors and attempting, little by little, to make my new home a healing sanctuary. Many blessings…. 💗🙏🏻👼🏻✝️🏡

  8. LOVE your home. I would need support from a hand rail but would change nothing about your stunning home!!!!!!

  9. This is my favorite tiny house I've seen on my favorite tiny home channel! 🥰🤗

  10. She has decorated the whole house so beautiful. The green in the kitchen is gorgeous. I would love to know the color she painted it.

  11. What a lovely well thought out home. The wallpaper is wonderful and she knows how to make it serene. The wood is absolutely gorgeous and she obviously knew what she wanted. Well done!

  12. I just love that kitchen! So airy and spacious. I live in a 725sqft apartment and my kitchen has less than half the prep space and storage that her's does! It's great she has space to store camping gear. That's always a challenge. And the full wardrobe in the bathroom is brilliant!

  13. Just wow..the tiny, the location, the garden! I think for the price this is very reasonable!! Full custom and she doesn't have to add anything else. This kind of tiny runs around $120k USD now in my area.

  14. Oh, man, what a lovely place, and person! I have to say, it's refreshing to see something other than the black black black black that seems to have dominated recent videos.

When you walked inside, the colour scheme just made me smile uncontrollably, it just feels so right. Definitely an inspiration for our future house. That, coupled with the copper?! Oh, delicious. And my hat's off to her choosing to have many spaces to see/display what's meaningful, rather than hiding it all away in storage. It was like maximal minimalism, if there is such a thing…simple but lush, rich feeling.

And the land! Her personal and the overall garden were lovely. Add in the eclectic structured, relaxed format community, and I find it quite inspiring. Given we plan to create a future facing, arts, wellness, farming and broader community connecting village in the south of France, this is definitely among what will inspire it. Thank you to her, and to you for your channel, Bryce and Rasa 🙂
