I once did the hand sandwich trick with signed cards. Then I moved on to the next trick but I forgot to undercut the duplicate signed card. I accidentally showed them the duplicate signed card.

it feels like susch a waste to let a card get signed and never be able to use it again.
spontaneous magic works all the time making magic up as you go along with knowledge of sleights is the best magic of all even amazes yourself sometimes.
same thing happened to me when performing. One time for stairway by Marcus Eddie I was performing, I forgot to do the secret move before they put the bill between the rubber band. So I then asked them to sign the bill.(luckily I had a sharpie on me) so they unclimbed it, I did the secret move and then proceeded with the effect. It's essential for magicians to never loose their cool when performing. Even when somebody guesses how it's done just don't give them attention. like if someone says you have two cards! then I just say the following two words very passively "But Watch."and carry on.
