  1. Do yews not grow well in your area? They are my fav for these types of uses. But we are zone 6 with more rainfall.

  2. I have a circular front hardscape- the outer circle is a soldier boarder of bricks with herringbone pattern outside of it. The next inner layer is a ring of 10 boxwoods, the center of the ring is filled with concrete stepping stones which resemble flagstone, and a “bird girl” statue in the center. Conduit for water and or electrical is accessible beneath the concrete stone and so any changes in the future are possible. You should request viewers send in images of their circular path solutions….

  3. This was fun. A thought about the containers to hold evergreen plants; have you considered using bottomless containers? I’m thinking about Bunny Guinness channel for inspiration.

  4. Just Love the interaction between You, Aaron and your Mom. The interplay is fascinating, I enjoy seeing the planning of the Patio developing. With the inestimable help of Russell and Cheddar. I'm sure it will be a Wonderful space, Welcoming and Comfortable. Yet Beautifully tied into the adjacent Hartley. ????????????????????????????

  5. The open circle needs to have the brick laid with an edging, I think, not just cut as an open circle

  6. Definitely with your mum on using the width of the gravel, that's a good offset I think will look fab. I'm not sure I'd reduce the size because then you'll lose that lovely symmetry between the two areas at the swoops. I think that little pathway would look lovely with the same stone as in the Hartley maybe. Whatever you decide I'm sure it will look amazing and gorgeous, as it does now. Have a nice day now x

  7. So exciting. How about a Koi pond with lovely pink lotus for the center. Can't wait to see it completed.

  8. I’m in on the fountain as the centerpiece. I think it would look beautiful hedged with the ‘Paloma Blanca’ Euonymus you showed us in a few earlier videos. The low, compact profile with those stunning white-tipped leaves! ????

  9. Think about an in ground pound with a sitting ledge & fountain. There’s
Already enough fountains on your property.

  10. I have to admit when I heard Arron's Idea – I thought – nice idea but…. I understood and respected his idea but having the 8' circle in the middle already set would be one less step of work in the future.

  11. This is going to be gorgeous as usual!! What is the beautiful piece next to you when your opening the marking gun? I always anticipate the progress!!

  12. If someone else can confirm, I find English boxwoods to have a distinct smell even when not in bloom. Some people compare it to cat pee. Having said that given I been around it for 30 years it just smells just boxwood to me.

  13. If you sit most frequently in that area, that's where I would want a fountain. Therefore, I would brick it. I also think if you changed your mind on that, it would probably be easier to cut it out, as Aaron said, than to fill it.

  14. I am so excited to see the patio area completed so you can start planting around it. You Mom is wonderful. I love how she get your thought process and you work so well together. Have a blessed day.

  15. I would do a fountain ⛲️, such a pretty sound for the patio area, near the fireplace, and the Hartley ????.

  16. Since you asked…I would do a large ornamental tree (Kwanzan Cherry?) in the center, perhaps with a raised seating wall around the tree. I would also do the area in gravel with a brick border to match what you already have down by the Hartley. This way your brick will line up nicely and the spaces will not compete. I think that a fountain is needed down by the Hartley as that area doesn't have as much shade. Your projects are such fun to follow along on!

  17. You have inspired me to go out & map out my tiny urban balcony????‍♀️????????

  18. Just thought of this when you showed the connect area between Hartley and new patio…how about that large 6 ft arch… I was thinking it would give a feeling of intimate mystery and walking thru to an expansive view and seating…like a low ceiling to super high sky. Hmm might interfere with view of hartley…however could focus pecking view of or other direction the fountain…hmm nevermind lol excited for you..such fun

  19. I think leave the brick in the center and then add whatever you want on top, water feature, planter, etc. Then you can switch it out if you want. And… I use more marking paint than I need to ????????‍♀️. I love drawing out ideas to see if I like them. I am very visual.
