  1. You can use that sald, it's even better now because it contains iron and most people have not enough iron intake!

  2. I do my burning outside on an open flame. I have a stick with some cloth attached to the tip to constantly apply and spread the grease.
This way you can do multiple layers of seasoning in like 15 minutes instead of letting the oven run for hours.

  3. Unfortunately my pan has a wooden handle. Can i seaon it by putting it on the stove top on high heat ? Thanks

  4. After my mom passed, I neglected to care for my 3 cast iron skillet…there is caked on grease, food…will the salt remove this stuff?

  5. interesting, but next time you will be frying your food in the thin layer of seasoning oil. Sound not that healthy or am I wrong ?

  6. I believe i didn't let my cast iron pan dry well enough before adding the oil.
Now it has some spots than looks like water and oli mixed.
And its not coming off the cast iron.
Does it mean it's totally ruined?
Is it even safe to use it ?

  7. To clean a cast iron pan just fry some bacon and make some bacon fried rice. The rice will mix well with leftover fried bits, salts and the flavoured oils and make great tasting easy fried rice side dish to go with the meal!

  8. crisco is pretty much garbage in a can. to see profesional chef use it season a pan made me stop watching.
