  4. I've actually had conversations with Mr. Decore he lives in Korea. When he first started he didn't have any knowledge of aquariums are fish.
    As you can see he's very focused on on aquascaping but he's also learned how to understand fish.
    I mean I've only been in the beta hobby for 2 years and believe me I need squat about fish.
    of course I did a bunch of research you know on Google about how to cycle the tank and all that but I only chose plants that were stem plants or had rhizomes.
    I'm an American living in Taiwan and we don't have all the supplies that they do in America.
    Now that I think about it culturally how you take care of a betta really does depend on the country.
    I've actually had fish die from upgrading their tanks.
    my very first beta was a beautiful crowntail with orange fins and I was told to buy this acrylic half gallon tank and had a little light and it was beautiful.
    I put in a beautiful lily pad and I put in some a little bit of Anubis and colored gravel.
    Until this year my city didn't have aquarium soil.then I research America and they said all your Betta needs at least 2.5 gallons or three gallons or even bigger.
    So I went out and got a 3 gallon glass aquarium.I cycled it properly and kept him in his tiny little half gallon until it was ready.
    At the end of one month I put him in his brand new home and within a week he died.
    I should have immediately put him back into his half gallon. he ate his Omega one pilots well and he swam happily and was a very happy betta.
    the point is is that fish they can die due to a number of reasons.
    with more time and understanding of fish aquariums and aquatics in general eventually things get better.
    I now have seven healthy bettas.I feed them every other day because according to America they need to eat everyday but in Taiwan they need to eat every 2 days 4 to 5 pellets.
