5 years ago, Tony built a container home in his parent’s backyard for $13,000. After finishing that project, he saw a potential for container homes to be manufactured as an alternative and affordable housing option. So, he started a business. Today he’s built almost 100 container homes of all sizes and designs. Each of them different and beautiful! In this video we’re going to learn a little bit more about what it takes to build a container home and take a tour of Tony’s facility.

  2. Such interesting spaces. I would love to see one with furniture staging. Seems like a big part of the expense is transit costs to the site. Very impressive tour

That Jenna is a great video and hopefully across my side of the pond, where there are stacks of empty old containers , someone could have the ingenuity to duplicate what Tony has started and shown works. We need homes in desperate places, where folks could set up and live affordably and not rely on bricks and mortar.
    Thanks for showing and Brits if watching this why not take onboard what is required.

  8. A hundred thousand is NOT affordable for the poor. Trust me I know. Nice spaces but I could never afford that.

    “I started in my parent’s basement”
    “I spent the next nine months working my ass off”
    “Housing was crazy expensive”
    “All of our storage is containers. Man I gotta move these things out of here!”
    “It has a total of sixteen windows, which personally I think are too many, but that’s ok”
    “Making those container doors sure was a bitch”
    “These drawers will open up for them to hang up their shirts so they don’t get stinky”
    “I hate having to turn sideways to go down this corridor”
    “You could really live in this thing full time, but I wouldn’t want to”
    “How do you do this stuff? I didn’t know what the heck I was doing!”
