America does not use nickle at all in their white gold. It amazes me when an Australian man give wrong information on America raw materials. I have a 14k white gold since 1988 and it did not turn color at all because we use the same standards as Australians jewelers.
I have a 10k white gold 43 gram cuban link chain and I swim with it on, I clean it with baking soda, I boil it, I even shower with it and its never lost any color. does this only happen to white gold rings I wonder? because i have had my white gold chsin foe years and it's never lost its beauty.

Wow, platinum is more pricey than 18k white gold? I didn't know that. 18k yellow gold over rhodium or sterling silver actually looks nice too. The good part is you can get that kind of ring for a good deal, and still be able to place a large diamond on it.
