It's New Year's Day today (happy 2019, everyone!), so both Thanksgiving and Christmas have just gone by, but this pie looks so good I have to try it. Hey, until the first day of spring in mid-March, it's still technically winter, so why not spend it making delicious seasonal-appropriate desserts? š
EDIT: (Jan. 9th, 2019) I made it yesterday and we had it for dessert tonight and oh, my gods, this is the greatest pumpkin pie ever. It's amazing. The cinnamon in the crust is fucking brilliant and the amount and blend of spices in the filling is absolutely perfect. This might just become the go-to pumpkin pie recipe in my family for the holidays now. Thank you so much for such a wonderful treat.

I baked this for our Thanksgiving meal, and it was delicious! The filling was amazing, but the pie crust was really crumbly and dry when we tried to roll it so we added some water.

How is it that his pie doesn't become soggy? He has not blind baked it nor has he used egg wash on the crust. Can anyone explain this mystery to me?

As a fellow Arkansan, THANK YOU for correctly pronouncing pecan. Though, I have to admit, I see way more sweet potato pies this time of year than pumpkin. Maybe folks in the Delta don't like pumpkins, haha.
Fun fact: I don't care for either, but I LOVE my mom's mock pecan pie. I think its a texture thing.
