This recipe and method of making banana pudding was taught to me by my grandmother. To me, it’s the best banana pudding in the world but I guess that’s because I grew up eating it. Follow these steps and try it out for yourself. I very highly doubt you will be disappointed. It’s really not that hard to make but it is a little time consuming when you’re standing there stirring for 15 mins. Please don’t be tempted to ramp up the heat in order to save time. If you do, the egg yolks will scorch to the bottom of the pan and not only ruin the flavor, but also will be a pain to wash off the pot. Trust me, the 15 mins of utter boredom is worth it.

Measurements:
2&1/2 cups whole milk
2 egg yolks
2/3 cups of sugar
2 Tbsp flour
1&1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 or 3 bananas
Nilla wafers

By the way, I made an editing error and accidentally cut out the part where I added the vanilla extract. It’s added immediatley after taking the pudding off the heat and it’s 1&1/2 teaspoons. I was too lazy to go back and fix it…

Ok true story.. picture this, itโ€™s thundering & , raining like crazy outside in Houston Tx this morning..we eat healthy most always but I came across this video and said oh what the heck we can have a good cheat day today. So husband is at work and Iโ€™m going to surprise him. So I tried to tweak the recipe with organic skim milk instead of whole milk. This video was simple enough, so off i set to make banana pudding in 15 minutes so I thought! Well I followed the instructions but removed the whole to skim milk, well i set the timer 15 and stirred and stirred, 15 minutes went by and nothing happening, still watery so i add two 5 minutes increments , then two 10 minute increments 45 minutes of loudly whisking and stirring the pudding to death! I used my good arm, I used my bad arm (the weaker one, not that its bad).. my good arm looked like hurcules and my bad arm looked like popeye , I could crunch a can with 1 arm and bench press 250lbs with the other by the end of the pudding whisking and stirring. During the process of 45 minutes i was overheating so with my good arm Iโ€™m stirring and the other arm Iโ€™m ripping clothes off, by the time i was done I looked just lk the man in this video shirtless ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ’€! All for some banana pudding I refused to give up on because my organic skim milk went into it. Just so you know it took about 40 minutes just to start to thicken up. So i say donโ€™t do what i did

Just made this with my son and it turned out great! The mixing time was a little bit longer for us, but it definitely got thicker (adjusted /alternated my heat between 4 and 5). Thank you!

I know you was in your own home, but when you invite guest into your home whether in person or video, put on a shirt and shoes. That turned me off.

Nice ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ video but down South we use The old fashion Jacksonโ€™s Vanilla Wafers

Can i subsitute milk for carnation

Cher a Smile says:

A+ for making the pudding himself; I hate instant pudding and it is so watery looking & tasting when you use instant instead of making it from scratch. However, would it have killed him to wear a shirt! Gross. Also, what happened to the vanilla, not to mention, the meringue, & then crumble the wafers over top. But for my purposes, the video was good enough as he made the pudding from scratch.

Mystic Modern Magic says:

I had to turn it. The music was horrible.

Stephanie Genereux says:

Drives me nuts to just see ingredients and not actually see some one making something. Too much of this music crap for cooking videos. People want to hear you talking and explaining not just doing the cooking.
