Taiwan shoots at China’s drone for the first time; Taipei counters Beijing’s ‘intimidation’

Taiwan fires warning shots at a Chinese drone near offshore island. It was the first time such warning shots have been fired during a period of heightened tensions between China and Taiwan. The drone was spotted infiltrating shortly after President Tsai Ing-Wen said she had ordered Taiwan’s military to take “strong countermeasures”. The statement was made during her visit to the frontline troops in Penghu Islands. There has been no immediate response from China so far on the drone ‘provocations’. However, on August 29, the Chinese Foreign Ministry had dismissed Taiwan’s complaints about the drones as nothing “to make a fuss about”. Watch this report to know more.

  1. Taiwan needs to develp nuclear deterrence. Won't be easy but that's the only way they can save their independence and their democracy.

  2. Good move by Taiwan. If conflict is unavoidable, then it's right time.
As time passes, china will be near undefeatable in NXT decade.

  3. India is watching China every day but can't do anything but some lame measures. Indian politicians know very well that they are weak, only their mouths and tongues are hard!
