Welcome to BREATH – A 30 Day Yoga Journey | Yoga With Adriene

It is happening! Today’s video is a bit of an orientation, a warm welcome, and an official kick-off. We will begin with a few easy group breaths to enjoy, and recognize that if all you do is arrive here to breathe, you are winning, golden, exactly where you are meant to be.

You can consider this a practice day for your upcoming practices if you like.

Work with what you have, but in this video, I make some suggestions on some optional things you might like to bring to class each day, along with an invitation to help guide you as you embark on this unique journey.

Check-in with your willingness to be present, and remember for this to take off – you have to show up.

If this cross-legged position is not doable for you, you can use blankets, blocks, or pillows to sit up on. You can also come into a chair, or on the edge of your couch when we take this shape. That is a great way to modify and possibly a better spot for you to tune in, work with the breath technique, and warm up before we get moving into other shapes each day.

Finally, set an intention. Be brave and ask WHY? Why are you here? What do you think pulled you here? And if you don’t know, that is okay, we will likely uncover that together. (How exciting!)

    Remember that showing up is going to be the hardest and most challenging aspect of this journey. So today, commit to it, write it down, say it out loud. “I choose to show up on my mat for the next 30 Days. I can and I will.”

  2. This is my 4th – 30 day program that I have tapped into. I never enjoyed sports when I was younger and my main exercise was walking. YOGA with Adrienne is MY exercise of choice these days! Adrienne pushes but is encouraging and I truly love the modifications as I have a mild scoliosis, as well as osteoarthritis in my hands. Thank you, Adrienne, for this time for me!!

  3. Hi, talk about a late starter. I am moving backwards from 2023 30 days, so now am on my third 30 day yoga journey with BREATH. Loving the journey. The improvement in my flexibility/breathing/ strength has been astounding. I look forward to my daily practice, thank you so!!! much.

    – i failed on a professional exam last january. because on workout exam, i can't breath correctly. so for april i have to be ready to try again this exam. this journey can helps me, i feel it.

  5. I had an MRI scan today. As my body went into the tube and the loud noises started, I really wanted to get the hell out, I was in such a panic. Then I remembered taking the BREATH journey a year ago. I started to control my breathing (a count of 4 in, 5 out was especially calming) and I could hear Adriene's voice counting. I was proud of myself that I endured 50 minutes in that thing without embarrassing myself. So.. my message is, do it, you never know when you might need it. And thank you, Adriene.

  6. This is my second series of 30 days and time on the mat has become my treat, reward for the other not so fun things in my day, cant imagine a day without YWA now.

  8. Here in August 2022 after battling COVID for 3 weeks. Breath was my very first YWA journey in January 2021 and helped me navigate my personal growth journey ever since. Coming back to this life-changing practice to learn how to breathe again as I still recover, and to strengthen the emotional, mental, and physical relationship with my body. My intention is to HEAL.
