Professional Baker Teaches You How To Make OATMEAL RAISIN COOKIES!

Anna guides you on making delicious oatmeal raisin sandwich cookies. Click on SHOW MORE for recipe ingredients and guide.

The ingredients and directions below is for about 3 dozen individual cookies, 18 sandwich cookies.

Ingredients for the cookies
1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup packed dark brown sugar
2 large eggs, at room temperature
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
2 Tbsp cornstarch
½ tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground ginger
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp ground allspice
2 ¼ cup regular rolled oats (not instant)
1 cup raisins

Ingredients for the filling:
¾ cup peanut butter
¼ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
½ cup icing sugar, sifted

Cooking directions for cookies:
1. For the cookies, preheat the oven to 375 F and line baking trays with parchment paper.

2. Cream the butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar together until smooth and light. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla.

3. In a separate bowl, stir the flour, cornstarch, cinnamon, ginger, baking soda, salt and allspice together. Add this to the butter mixture and stir to blend. Stir in the oats and then add the raisins. Drop the cookies by tablespoonfuls (or using a small ice cream scoop), leaving at least 2 inches between the cookies. Bake the cookies for 10 minutes (the cookies may look underdone, but will set up to be nice and chewy once cooled) and allow them to cool on the baking tray.

Cooking directions for filling:
1. To prepare the filling, beat the peanut butter, butter and icing sugar until smooth. Spread a layer of the filling one the bottom of one cookie and sandwich with a second cookie.

2. The cookies will keep for 3 days (filled or unfilled) in an airtight container.

Don’t suffer through one more bout of period pain. Instead, try this trick from the ancient Chinese healing art acupressure.

Warning
If you feel pain when using acupressure, stop immediately. Pregnant women should not use acupressure.

Step 1: Find the sweet spot
Find the acupressure spot SP-6, called the Sanyinjiao point. Located four finger widths above your inner ankle bone, just behind the shinbone, it helps relax the cervix, according to Chinese medicine.

Tip
If you feel pain when you press down, you’re on the wrong spot.

Step 2: Press it with your thumb
Take your thumb and press on the point for six seconds, then release it for two seconds. Keep this up for five minutes.

Step 3: Switch feet
Switch to the other leg and repeat.

Step 4: Repeat
Repeat once more on each leg.

Tip
This acupressure move can also help new mothers deal with the cramps they experience for several days after giving birth.

Step 5: Feel good
Feel good knowing you have a powerful new weapon against menstrual cramps.

Did You Know?
In one study, 87 percent of participants who tried acupressure to relieve their menstrual cramps said they found it helpful.

How to Pick Up a Baby | Infant Care

How to Pick Up a Baby | Infant Care

Full Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL46D624C8FB4FE6D8

Watch more How to Take Care of a New Baby videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/502434-How-to-Pick-Up-a-Baby-Infant-Care

We are going to talk about how to hold an infant. So the most important thing when going to hold a child is to, make sure you’re steady, you’re in a nice place, where you’re not, you know, unstable and unstable footing and the most important thing to always remember is make sure that the head and the neck are always supported. So, when approaching a baby, you always want to reach behind and have your hand on the back of the baby’s head and neck area, really with the top of the fingers at the top of their head and your wrist almost under their back, and you would pick up the baby just like this. You can put them in any hold that you prefer. Some parents like to cradle them this way, there are some parents who hold babies this way, some parents that hold the baby like this. As long as the neck and the chin and the head are supported, that is the safest way to pick up and hold a child at all times. You would never go and hold them and lift them up by their waist, or even their shoulders. You always have to have your hand underneath the back of their head and, if able, the other hand underneath their bottom and legs. And then you can move the baby in the safest way, even if they’re squirming and you have a much tighter, two-hand on them when you’re picking them up. So, pick them up always supporting the head, make sure you’re on stable footing and always be as gentle as possible.

Professional Baker Teaches You How To Make CRINKLE COOKIES!

Professional Baker Teaches You How To Make CRINKLE COOKIES!

Anna Olson’s chocolatey cookies are rolled in an icing sugar coating. Click show more for recipe ingredients and directions.

Chocolate Crinkle Cookies recipe ingredients:
– 9 oz (270 g) dark couverture chocolate, chopped, divided
– 2 large eggs, at room temperature
– ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
– 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
– 1 tsp (5 mL) balsamic vinegar
– 1 cup (130 g) icing sugar, plus extra for rolling cookies
– ½ cup (60 g) cocoa powder
– 1 Tbsp (7 g) cornstarch
– ½ tsp (2.5 g) salt

Baking directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375 ºF (190 ºC). Line 2 baking trays with parchment paper.

2. Melt 6 oz (180 g) of the chocolate in a metal bowl placed over a saucepan filled with an inch of barely simmering water, stirring gently until melted. Set aside.

3. With electric beaters or in a stand mixer fitted with the whip attachment, whip the eggs with the granulated sugar, vanilla and Balsamic until frothy and light, about 3 minutes (it doesn’t have to hold a “ribbon”). Whisk in the melted chocolate.

4. Sift in the icing sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch and salt and stir in by hand until well combined. Stir in the remaining 3 oz (90 g) of chopped chocolate. The batter may seem very soft at first, but just give it a minute – it will tighten up.

5. Place some icing sugar in a shallow dish. Use a small ice cream scoop to scoop the batter and drop it directly into the icing sugar, rolling to coat each scoop fully. Arrange these on the prepared baking trays, leaving 1 ½-inches (4 cm) between them. Gently press each cookie flat with the palm of your hand. Bake the cookies for 10 minutes (do not overbake) and cool the cookies on the tray just until they can be lifted off (1-2 minutes) then cool on a rack.

SUMMARY
– Banana peels contain vitamin C and vitamin E and they also contain potassium, zinc, iron, and manganese. These nutrients can calm inflamed skin and reduce acne outbreaks.
– Facial wrinkles occur when the skin loses its elasticity and it loses its firmness. The antioxidants and vitamin C in bananas can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
– When your silver begins to lose its luster or it begins to tarnish, try using a banana peel. The inside of a banana peel contains substances such as potassium that help clean metal objects.
– A banana peel is rich in enzymes and these enzymes in the banana skin have a pulling action that will draw the foreign subject to the surface of the skin which will make it much easier to grab the splinter or sliver or glass with a pair of tweezers.
– Adding a banana peel to your compost pile will help introduce more calcium, magnesium, sulfur, phosphates, potassium, and sodium — all of which are vital to the healthy growth of your plants.
– Ripe banana peels are very rich in potassium that can help reduce yellow stains that appear as a result of the consumption of certain beverages such as coffee and tea and certain foods such as blueberries and raspberries.
– Banana peels have the ability to drastically reduce skin irritation such as swelling, redness, and scarring.
– If you are looking for a natural way to treat your migraine, look no further than your fruit basket. A banana peel across the forehead and across the back of the neck can help relieve headaches!
– To keep your steak moist and tender, add some ripe banana skin to the roasting pan. This way, you will ensure that your roast stays juicy while it’s in the oven and that it stays full of flavor.
– Banana peels are a great home remedy for itchy skin. Banana peels contain histamine, lowering nutrients such as magnesium, vitamin C, and vitamin E.

SUMMARY
– After installing a free app called EVA Facial Mouse, you’ll be able to control your Android device with movements of your head!
– If you prefer to hear incoming information rather than see it, go to Settings/Accessibility and turn on the Text-to-Speech Output option.
– Just go to Settings/Security/Device administrators, and check the boxes next to Android Device Manager, Remotely locate this device, and Allow remote lock and erase. Now if you lose your smartphone, you can locate and block it without losing your data via a special website.
– If you would like to give your phone to another person yet keep your personal data confidential, use Guest Mode.
Swipe down from the top with two fingers, and touch the user icon on the upper right. The Add guest icon will appear.
– People with poor eyesight often have no idea how much this feature can help them. Just go to Settings / Accessibility / Magnification gestures. Then you’ll be able to zoom in on any part of the display just by tapping it.
– To use the Internet on different devices, go to Settings / Tethering and portable hotspot, and turn on Portable WLAN hotspot. That’s it!
– If you choose a black or simple dark background for your screen, the automatic pixel highlighting will turn off, and you’ll notice that your device keeps its charge for much longer.
– Starting with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, Google puts a small secret present for users into all their devices. However, finding it may prove to be quite difficult. Here are instructions on how to do it despite the odds. First, go to Settings and choose About phone or About tablet. Quickly tap Android version several times, and when a small marshmallow shows up on the screen, quickly tap it again, and a special mini-game will open.

Sliders
RECIPE COURTESY OF INA GARTEN
Level: Intermediate
Total: 35 min
Prep: 25 min
Cook: 10 min
Yield: 4 to 5 servings

Ingredients

2 pounds premium ground beef (80 percent lean and 20 percent fat)
1 tablespoon good Dijon mustard
3 tablespoons good olive oil, plus extra for brushing the grill
1 teaspoon chopped thyme leaves
3 teaspoons chopped garlic
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
6 ounces grated Gruyere
12 small Brioche buns
4 ounces baby arugula
3 medium tomatoes, sliced in 1/8-inch-thick rounds
2 small red onions, sliced in 1/8-inch-thick rounds
Ketchup, for serving

Directions

Build a charcoal fire or heat a gas grill.

Place the ground beef in a large bowl and add the mustard, olive oil, thyme, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix gently with a fork to combine, taking care not to compress the ingredients. Shape the meat into 12 (2-inch) patties of equal size and thickness.

When the grill is medium-hot, brush the grill grate with oil to keep the sliders from sticking. Place the sliders on the grill and cook for 4 minutes. Turn the sliders over with a spatula and cook for another 4 to 6 minutes, until medium-rare, or cook longer if you prefer the sliders more well done. For the last 2 minutes of cooking time, place 1/2-ounce Gruyere on the top of each burger and close the grill lid. Remove the sliders to a platter and cover with foil.

Slice the buns in half crosswise and toast the halves cut side down on the grill.

Divide the baby arugula among the 12 bottom buns, top each with a slider, and finish with a slice of tomato and red onion. Cover with the top of the bun and serve hot with ketchup.

11 Strange Tricks Your Body Plays On You Daily

11 Strange Tricks Your Body Plays On You Daily

Have you ever felt like you’re living in a body you literally know nothing about? Every once in a while your eye starts twitching by itself, your stomach starts singing like a whale, you get covered in goosebumps for no reason at all, or your leg falls asleep!

Speaking about your legs, do you know why when startled, or just scared, they might become as heavy as tree trunks? When adrenalin kicks in, it triggers what’s called the ‘fight or flight’ reaction. So it could go two different ways: you might run like an Olympic athlete, or you may not be able to move a single muscle. Interested? Then it’s time for you and your body to get to know each other better, and these 11 facts will help you with that.

#humanbody #yourbody #brightside

SUMMARY:
– If your eye starts to twitch occasionally, it’s a signal that you’re dealing with stress or having a hard time trying to get good sleep.
– We’re all familiar with uncontrollable chattering teeth and shivering legs when we’re cold. This happens because all your muscles are slightly, yet rapidly, moving to generate some heat from friction.
– The way you sat restricted the amount of blood that could get to your leg. Only ten minutes without proper blood circulation will cause this numbness, and the uncomfortable feeling afterwards is the sensation of blood rushing back in to every bit of your leg.
– To compensate for the lack of protection, and wash away all the dust that might settle on your eye during the night, special glands in the corners of our eyes produce tears.
– Yawning is basically stretching your jaw, and inhaling as deep as you can. Both actions make the blood in your vessels rush to your head, and spinal fluid go down your spine.
– Floaters aren’t exactly objects; they’re just tiny imperfections in one special part of the main body of an eye, called the vitreous. We can see them because these structural imperfections stand in the way of the light that passes from pupil to retina, which forms your vision.
– The worst kind of waking up is when you jerk or jump, startled, with the terrible sensation that you fell off your bed, or a cliff. It turns out this happens right after you’ve fallen asleep, at the exact moment all your muscles simultaneously relax. Your brain may mistake it as a distress call, because normally if all your muscles relaxed, you’d fall.
– The wrinkling happens when small blood vessels constrict under the skin; but that’s not the most interesting part. Scientists discovered that if the nerves in your fingers are damaged, the wrinkles won’t appear at all, no matter how long they’ve been under water.
– The clicking and cracking sounds happen when a serious force pushes on a joint, bending it in a way that causes a small bubble of gas to escape, and deflate.
– When your stomach is empty, your brain sends a signal to start the process of digesting something and transporting it further down the digestive system. But there’s nothing to move except gas, which is what makes all the noise.
