0:30 Traffic generation is hard. But what if I told you I could make it a little bit easier for you? Hi everyone. I’m Neil Patel, and today I’m going to share with you one simple hack that’ll get you more traffic to your website. This hack is called Subscribers. Head over to Subscribers.com. It works for every website. It’s free. You don’t have to pay a dollar. They don’t have some premium service. It’s just a free tool.
1:30 What this does, it tells people every time someone comes to your site through browser notifications, as you can see on the screen, it’ll show you “Hey would you like to get notifications from Facebook.com or NeilPatel.com or any site?” As people say yes and they accept and they want notifications, every time that you have a new message, you can notify them. So when you log in through Subscribers, what you do is you send out a message, you click send a notification, and you can tell all of your subscribers a specific message. “Hey here’s how to double your traffic.” “Check out my latest blog post.” Whatever it may be. “Check out this new product or service that were offering.”
2:00 And subscribers on their dashboard will show you every single message that you sent out, how many people, how many people received it, how many people clicked on it, and even how many people went over back to your website. What subscribers will attract how many people are active and how many people are inactive because they unsubscribe. And the best part about it is, installing it is super simple. You sign up, again it’s free, you put in your URL, as you put in your URL it’ll then say, “Alright here’s a code for your website.” You either install this WordPress plug-in, or you install this JavaScript, and then boom you’re off to the races. There’s not much more to that. Now here are some things I’ve learned by using Subscribers if you want to get the most amount of traffic.
2:30 What you’ll find is, people will unsubscribe. It’s easy to opt-in, and it’s really easy to opt out. And for that reason, you get a lot of unsubscribes. So if you’re going to monetize your subscriber list, you want to do this as quick as possible. Right when someone subscribes, consider creating a drip. Subscribers have like a drip feature in which you can send out messages within five minutes or even one minute after someone subscribes. Maybe a day later, maybe ten days later. So I created a drip sequence. My first drip sequence, my first message I send out people when you subscribe to NeilPatel.com, tells people about Uber Suggest, my marketing tool.
3:00 The second one, which goes out two days later, tells you about my ad agency, which helps drive more leads, revenue. My third one, tells people to subscribe to my YouTube page. And you can keep going with your drip. Mine is just three messages that I send out. And of course, in between, I’m continuing promoting my website or blog. What I found is, if you don’t send a ton of messages, you still get unsubscribes. So if I were you, I would consider sending out a message once every two or three days. Daily is a bit too obsessive, and it’s too much. But once every two or three days is the perfect amount. That’s all you have to do.
3:30 You’ll get more traffic, look at NeilPatel.com. As you can see I have over a hundred thousand subscribers. It’s the simplest, easiest way to get more traffic and best of all it’s free. With 10 abandoned caves in the Bardenas Reales, or badlands, of Navarre, Spain, Ruben Mendi wired, plumbed, floored and painted them and turned them into naturally heated and cooled housing. Today, he rents them out to visitors, but back in 1850, during the “cave housing boom,” these were affordable, self-dug, off-grid homes for the residents of Valtierra.
Mendi explains that the land was owned by the town, and as long as one was willing to dig, one could excavate themselves a home. Since these were mostly farms, or day laborers, the work was done in spare time, so it could take a year to dig a starter home: kitchen plus bedroom. As the family grew, new rooms were dug out. The naturally-insulated mountainside keeps the caves at a comfortable temperature year round.
The highly compacted mountain (due to its millions of years of existence) guarantees the safety of the caves. A geologist who did a risk assessment on the structures said that an 8.0 earthquake would knock down the local homes, but the caves would remain standing.
Mendi showed us one of the smaller starter homes – just a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom -, as well as the extra large “Palomar” (“Pigeon House”). Palomar was built in 1880 by a local man named Cenón Urbeneta, who spent all of his life digging the 250-square-meter (2690 square feet) cave home.

Whether you have a big marketing budget or not, you want to rank high organically because roughly 70% of the clicks go towards organic listings while 30% go towards paid ads.
Step #1: Write roundup posts. Interview everyone within your space. Ask them each the same question and create a very detailed roundup post. When you publish it, let them each know through email and ask them to share your content.
Some of them will link to your roundup post and others will share it on the social web. This will help increase your rankings.
Step #2: Use the SEObook Keyword Density Tool. Put in your competitor URLs that rank for the terms you want to rank for. That tool will show you all of the keywords that your competition is using.
Do this for the top 10 listings for the keyword you want to rank for. Look for all of the common terms these top 10 URLs are using and use them within your web page as well.
This will ensure your content is more thorough, which will help boost your rankings. Make sure you don’t just stuff in keywords, it has to flow naturally.
Step #3: Google the term you want to rank for. Look at the paid ads and read the ad copy. A lot of the listings for paid ads are at the top because their ad copy is appealing.
Consider making your title tag similar to the ad copies that are at the top as they tend to be more appealing. By making an appealing title tag more people will click on your listing and over time this will cause your rankings to increase.
If you want to make your title tag more appealing consider adding the date to it, or use adjectives. I’ve also tested the words: get, now, free, and try. Those words tend to generate more clicks when they are used within a title tag.

**UPDATE: Best to cut the pre-cooked crab into quarters, and use some extra seasoned oil for additional flavour once it’s plated** Hi everyone, here is a very simple and easy recipe for making amazing chilli crabs using freshly pre-cooked crab. A big thanks to my good mate for the freshly picked home grown chillis!!! This is a yummy spicy seafood recipe with a light subtle chilli kick and lingering hints of garlic and light saltiness. The resulting flavour of this chilli crab dish is very gentle and subtle due to the spices being mixed into the olive oil which is drained from the crabs once the crabs have finished simmering.
In the making of this video recipe, i used less oil than what I suggest for best results. As I mention in the video, for maximum flavour please ensure that the extra virgin olive oil used is enough to reach 1 inch up from the bottom of the pot so that the two crabs are entirely immersed by the oil and other ingredients during the simmering process 🙂
Preperation time: Less than 10 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Serves: 1-2
Cooking tools:
Large cooking pot
Large cooking spoon
Chilli cutting knife
Chopping board
Drainer
Ingredients:
2 freshly caught large crabs (pre-cooked)
Extra Virgin olive oil
Fresh Chilli
Paprika
Cayenne Pepper
Cumin Seed
Salt
Garlic Salt
Preparation method:
0. Cut pre-cooked crab into quarters
1.Cut up chillis in chillies into fine pieces.
2.Place cooking pot on stove and add Extra Virgin olive oil (enough to fill an inch upwards [2.5cm] from the bottom of the pot).
3.Turn the gas stove on to medium-low heat setting.
4. Place the cut up chillies into olive oil in pot and add salt to taste (crucial taste element).
5. Add plenty of paprika, plenty of cayenne pepper and a small amount of ground cumin and stir well.
6. Turn stove down to low heat setting.
7. Carefully place two large crabs into pot (the crabs should be fully immersed by the olive oil) and add plentiful amounts of the secret ingredient garlic salt.
8. Make sure crabs are fully immersed and set kitchen timer for 20-25 minutes.
9. Place cooking pot lid on pot, leaving it slightly ajar to allow the crabs to simmer for 20 minutes.
10. After 20 minutes (when timer beeps) turn off stove and using heat protective mitten or kitchen towel pick up pot and carefully drain crabs over the kitchen sink using drainer. Voila!

If you have a brand-new website or even a website that’s old and you’re getting little to no organic traffic, you can still generate a lot of traffic from Google and rank organically.
But the ways you need to do it is totally different than what people are thinking. Now let me give you an example.
There’s this company called Ahrefs. Ahrefs provides an SEO tool. They rank on page one of Google and at the top for backlink checker. But before they ranked at the top, they were doing everything.
They were building links to that page, they were guiding internal links, and they couldn’t get to the top no matter what they tried. And can you guess why they couldn’t get to the top?
Well, it’s because everyone who searches for that term is looking a free tool that provides backlinks right away. Ahrefs is a paid tool. The moment they figured this out, they released a free version of their tool that provides information on a hundred backlinks.
Just a hundred, they limited it so people still upgrade to their paid tool, and what ended up happening is within a few weeks to even less than a month, they shot up to number one.
Do you see what happened there? They figured out what the user wanted and they provided it. It wasn’t just about building links, it wasn’t just about optimizing title tags, putting in the right keywords.
It’s providing the best experience for our users, and that’s a mistake that most people make.
In 2020 and even beyond, SEO is not just about building links, building the right type of content, internal linking.
It’s about thinking about the user and putting them first.
If you don’t put the user first and you don’t give them what they want no matter how much SEO you do.
Just like Ahrefs showed, you won’t rank. If you put the user first, and even if you don’t have all the other factors, like your backlink count isn’t right, your internal links aren’t perfect, you can still rank high.
Because the way Google looks at rankings these days is even if you do all the fundamentals right, but if people keep going to your site and then click the Back button right away, they’re bouncing off, they’re going back to Google quick and the next result, that’s telling Google that, hey, people don’t like your website.
Google doesn’t care how much SEO stuff you’re doing at that point. They’re just like, wait, people aren’t liking your website, so they’re not going to continually rank you.
So if you want to rank in 2919, don’t just think about SEO from an on-page or off-page perspective. Think about SEO from a user’s perspective.
What do your ideal customers want? If you don’t know them, head over to tools like surveymonkey.com and you can survey users. You can survey your own users. Ask them things like, what else would you like to see on this page? How can we delight you? How can we make our website better, our product, our service? By figuring out what people want and then giving it to them, you’re much more likely to crank and climb in the rankings.
It’s not just about doing the fundamentals that everyone is talking about.
